MLS, SeatGeek collaborating on ticketing automation for clubs

Tech and increased automation across ticketing has long been the key for MLS teams and companies like SeatGeek to eliminate common pains felt by fans, SBJ’s Irving Mejia-Hilario reports. Now, both the ticketing company and league franchises are collaborating closely to improve the fan experience during the ticket-purchasing process, noted panelists at SBJ and Leaders In Sport’s new conference, The Business of Soccer, presented by Concacaf & MLS, in L.A. on Thursday.

Robyn Theodorakis, director/business development for SeatGeek, worries customers using legacy sites often are clicking on too many links and may even need to call ticketing offices to finish a purchase. She hopes automation will soon solve those issues.

Oura hires ex-Apple exec as first chief medical officer

Oura Health, makers of the popular biometric ring, have hired their first chief medical officer in Dr. Ricky Bloomfield, a former Duke and Stanford hospitalist who also spent the past nine years as the Clinical & Health Informatics Lead at Apple, Lemire also reports.

In this new role, Bloomfield will lead the development and implementation of Oura’s healthcare strategy, which included a partnership last year with Essence Healthcare to provide rings to an aging population through its Medicare Advantage plan. Dexcom, which manufactures a continuous glucose monitor, made a $75M investment in Oura last year as part of a $200M Series D round.
