Adidas will become Newcastle’s new kit manufacturer from the 2024-2025 season, replacing Castore, which has supplied the club’s apparel since 2021-2022. The news was revealed after Amazon "mistakenly released" episodes three and four of "We Are Newcastle United," which showed the club’s commercial staff agreeing to a deal with the German brand. The episodes were later removed as fans reacted to the exciting news on social media (CHRONICLE LIVE, 8/19). The deal is expected to be a "major financial boost." Newcastle is attempting to maximize its commercial revenue in order to spend under FFP rules. The previous deal with Castore is believed to be worth around £7M ($8.9M) annually. For comparison, Tottenham’s contract with Nike is reportedly worth around £30M ($38.2M) a season. Newcastle’s new deal with Adidas is believed to represent a "significant uplift" (THE ATHLETIC, 8/19).
