Sabalenka donning custom Nike outfits during U.S. Open

Nike, for the U.S. Open, has created a “custom kit … for the first time” for Aryna Sabalenka, the No. 2-ranked player on the WTA Tour, according to Stephanie Livaudais of TENNIS. The 2023 Australian Open winner and Belarus native “will compete in a ‘Noble Red’ and coral racerback dress with an asymmetrical skirt and complete the look with matching Nike Air Zoom NXT shoes.” Nike’s commitment is a “major vote of confidence” for Sabalenka, as sponsors have been “hesitant to back Russian and Belarusian players financially amid Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.” Sabalenka has worn Nike since 2017. She also counts Wilson and Dobel Tequila as sponsors (TENNIS.com, 8/29).
