"Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel " is "coming to an end" after 29 years on HBO. The long-running investigative sports series "will end with its current season." Gumbel, who has been hosting the show since April 1995, said that his nearly three-decade run has been "very gratifying." "Real Sports," which is executive produced by Joe Perskie, has run for more than 300 episodes (DEADLINE, 9/6). "Real Sports" won its 37th Sports Emmy in May, for outstanding hosted edited series. Gumbel "also received a lifetime achievement award" at the ceremony. The series also has three Peabody Awards (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 9/6).
