Snow still in stadium stands ahead of Steelers-Bills

The field at Highmark Stadium is "cleared of snow," but the stands were "still covered in a white blanket some five hours before" the Bills host the Steelers at 4:30pm ET in today's storm-delayed wild card game. A large crew of shovelers -- "volunteers being paid $20 an hour -- and a fleet of front-load tractors" helped to clear the facility. But the Bills made a "plea for more volunteers" earlier today ahead of fans being "allowed into the stadium at 2:30." It is "unclear whether crews would have enough time to clear the 70,000-seat stadium's three decks in time for kickoff" (ESPN.com, 1/15). Bills VP/Operations & Fan Experience Andy Major said that the intent is to "continue to shovel up until the gates open," and then "'troubleshooting teams' will be available throughout the day for particular areas that need additional attention" (BUFFALO NEWS, 1/15).
