A major French union "warned of possible strikes, including at hospitals," during the Paris Olympics. The general secretary of the General Confederation of Labour said the union "will give a notice of strike in public services" during the Games, when Paris' tourism office predicts up to 15.9 million people could visit the region (AP, 3/7).

The female employee who made allegations of controlling behavior against the Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has been suspended. The reason for her suspension, on full pay, "relates to the findings of the independent investigation which cleared Horner last week" (London TIMES, 3/7).

The National Rugby League's Dolphins have become the first Australian sporting franchise to partner with a medicinal cannabis company, signing Alternaleaf "in a groundbreaking sponsorship deal" for the next two years. The Alternaleaf logo "will appear on the sternum of the Dolphins' jerseys," beginning in Sunday's season opener (Brisbane COURIER-MAIL, 3/7).
