Comcast, MASN agree to keep RSN on service

Comcast and MASN have reached an agreement to keep the RSN "as a part of Xfinity’s cable packages -- but will move MASN and MASN2 to an elevated, more expensive tier." MASN will transition from "Xfinity's basic tier, Popular TV, to Ultimate TV" next Tuesday. The elevated package will "eventually cost about $20 more a month" for subscribers. This agreement comes eight days after the parties agreed to an extension of their contract to continue negotiations (BALTIMORE SUN, 3/8).

While the RSN will remain on Xfinity’s cable packages, subscribers will "need to pay more to watch Orioles and Nationals games" with the move from the basic package to the Ultimate TV package (BALTIMORE BANNER, 3/8).
