The Univ. of Alabama is "set to give a new name to its playing surface" at Bryant-Denney Stadium, "honoring" former football coach Nick Saban. The new name of the football field is "expected to become" Nick Saban Field, and "there is expected to be a dedication for the new field name" at the game against the Univ. of South Florida on Sept. 7. Today, the honorary degrees and recognition committee for the Univ. of Alabama system BOT "will meet for 'the consideration of resolution approving a naming at Bryant-Denny Stadium at UA'" (AL.com, 7/18).
