Related Companies does not have a specific sports vertical, but as one of the world’s largest development companies, and with Stephen Ross’ ownership of the Miami Dolphins, an F1 race and Hard Rock Stadium, the name carries weight. As part of a joint venture with Sterling Equities, the company is working with New York City FC to develop Willets Point, which will include the city’s first soccer-specific (and fully electric) stadium, 2,500 affordable housing units, a 250-room hotel, retail shops, a public elementary school and 40,000 square feet of open space for public use. The company also has mixed-use plans for a 240-acre site adjacent to Levi’s Stadium. Ross last month transitioned from chairman of the company he founded in 1972 to nonexecutive chairman. — D.B.
