HOF Resort delays meeting to review going private

The Hall of Fame Resort & Entertainment Co. in Canton, Ohio, will "postpone its annual meeting of stockholders" originally set for Nov. 21 and no new meeting date was announced. The company will review “a non-binding proposal to take the company private" from majority shareholder Stuart Lichter. Lichter and his affiliated companies own “about 75% of the company's stock,” which closed at $1.69 per share Wednesday. He has “proposed buying the remaining stock for $1.98 per share.” The company operates the football-themed Hall of Fame Village that surrounds the Pro Football HOF. The project has included “renovating Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel downtown; and adding restaurants, office space, athletic fields and amusement rides” (Canton REPOSITORY, 10/23).
