Jeremy Bloom named new CEO of X Games

Jeremy Bloom (r) will take over as CEO of X Games Wish of a Lifetime

X Games owner MSP Sports Capital today named skiing legend Jeremy Bloom CEO of the 29-year-old property. Bloom is expected to help transform the winter and summer events into year-round international competitions in league structures that will enable athletes to earn compensation well beyond the $2.4M already awarded through existing prize purses.

Bloom was the youngest male freestyle skier to make the U.S. Olympic team and went on to become a three-time World Champion, two-time Olympian, eleven-time World Cup Gold Medalist and the youngest freestyle skier to be inducted into the United States Skiing HOF. He was also an All-American football player at the Univ. of Colorado, was drafted as a WR and return specialist for the 2006 Eagles and played for the Steelers.

In 2008 he founded Wish of a Lifetime, a nonprofit that helps fulfill once-in-lifetime experiences for older folks, or what he calls “the selfless generation.”

MSP is led by Jeff Moorad, a former sports agent and later the CEO of the D-backs and Padres, and Suns Vice Chairman Jahm Najafi.
