Payment platform Ordr names Ryan Bott CEO

Payment platform Ordr has announced the hiring of Ryan Bott as its new CEO, pulling the longtime tech executive over from the board member position he’s held with the company for more than a year. Ordr has six clients in the sports space, recently securing the business of both the Penguins and Golden Knights.

The addition of Bott also sees his predecessor, company co-founder Jade Chiles, shift to CMO. No search firm was used for the hire. Bott arrives with a multitude of initial tasks:

  • Continue the company’s headquarter transition to Salt Lake City from its initial Canadian home of Edmonton.
  • Acquire new clients.
  • Continue development of Ordr’s payment platform.

Bott’s career features various stops at tech companies, including a six-plus-year stay at Sodexo, where he finished as the food-and-beverage provider’s Global SVP of Revenue. Ordr’s Simpl Payments product caters to live events through solutions like point of sales, payment processing, merchant services and mobile ordering.
