An announced crowd of 12,608 came out to Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday to watch the Montreal Victoire and the Boston Fleet play in the first game of the PWHL's Takeover Tour, and "perhaps the loudest roar of the night" came after the suggestion in an intermission interview that "Seattle wants its own team." Sunday's was the fifth largest single-game crowd in the league’s regular-season history and the highest so far in the month-old 2024-25 PWHL season. Victoire coach Kori Cheverie said, "Having a game in these cities that don’t have a team right now ... and the fans are in it the whole time ... it was really cool to be a part of, and we’re fortunate" (SEATTLE TIMES, 1/5).
