N.Y. Giants owner John Mara offered a “wisecrack at the end of his media session” Monday about a new Unisom sleep-aid commercial starring Eagles RB Saquon Barkley in which he is informally referenced, according to Darryl Slater of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. Barkley in the ad alludes to Mara's viral moment in "Hard Knocks" where he says he would have trouble sleeping if Barkley signed with the Eagles. Mara mentioned he contacted Barkley, who played six years with the team, and said, "The least you could’ve done was ask me to be in the commercial with you.” Mara said, “I could’ve been tossing and turning, and it would’ve been great." He added, "There is an acting gene in our family," and it is "not just my nieces,” actresses Kate and Rooney Mara (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 1/6).
