NFL preventing Patriots from launching Bluesky account

The NFL recently “intervened” when the Patriots tried to create an account on the upstart social media platform Bluesky and asked the team to remove its content, according to Nick O’Malley of MASSLIVE.com. Kraft Sports + Entertainment Group VP/Content Fred Kirsch during a recent episode of the “Patriots Unfiltered” podcast was asked whether the franchise “would consider creating an account” on the outlet. Kirsch said, “Right now we’re not allowed to." He added, “We had an account briefly on Bluesky but the league asked us to take it down because it’s not an approved social media platform for the NFL yet.” O’Malley noted the Pats are “just waiting on the NFL” to allow them to return.  Kirsch: “Whenever the league gives us the green light we’ll get back on BlueSky” (MASSLIVE.com, 1/22).
