The Brewers will have new workspace for baseball operations “constructed in the right field terrace area” of American Family Field as the group is “‘bursting at the seams’ in its current location and the ballpark ‘running out of spaces to put offices,’” according to Hannah Kirby of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. The offices will “appear to be a large structure with windows” and the team is “planning to add a video board on the structure’s façade, which would sync with the rest of the video boards and display messages.” About 1,600 seats in that area of the ballpark will “no longer be available,” with about 300 to be “physically removed.” Brewers President of Business Operations Rick Schlesinger noted the changes leave the ballpark “comfortably” over 40,000 seats. He said the seats being removed are the “last seats to be sold at the ballpark for games” and they are “often not sold for concerts.” Schlesinger indicated that he “wanted to avoid putting office space in areas of the concourse that could be used for future fan features” and that he also “didn’t want a separate building constructed.” Schlesinger said that building a separate office would be “‘very expensive’ and would disconnect people in the other building from the rest of the organization.” He said that the team is “looking into ways to bring the ballpark’s capacity back up within the next few years” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 2/3).
