The Jaguars signed team president Mark Lamping to a contract extension “through the 2030 season,” according to Demetrius Harvey of the FLORIDA TIMES-UNION. Lamping represents “some stability for the franchise as they get set to embark on a major stadium renovation plan.” Work toward that plan will “begin this year with construction starting next season under a reduced-capacity plan.” Lamping’s extension comes as the Jaguars have “undergone serious renovations this offseason with fresh faces at the front-office and coaching levels.” The team has already hired coach Liam Coen and EVP/Football operations Tony Boselli. They are currently looking for a new GM and interviews “will take place over the next week and a half with a hire expected at any point” (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 2/11). In Jacksonville, James Cannon notes Lamping was named president in 2012 and has “been integral to Jacksonville’s business success” (JACKSONVILLE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 2/11)
