Following DAZN’s $1B deal with FIFA for the global media rights for the 2025 Club World Cup, the streaming service has now partnered with TelevisaUnivision to air 18 of the tournament’s matches across its Spanish-language networks.

The platforms will partner on production, marketing and sponsorship for matches, as well as pre-and post-game programming with co-branded studio shows.

Additionally, TelevisaUnivison will lead advertising sales for all 63 Spanish-language matches. Inventory will range from sponsorships, live activations, branded content, social integrations and others.

It’s the first step of a larger partnership between TelevisaUnivision and DAZN, which will include partnering on rights distribution including DAZN’s sublicensing of sports content for the rest of this year and beyond. There’s also the possibility of the two companies working together to produce original content.

The inaugural edition of the new 32-team Club World Cup will be held in the U.S., with the first match kicking off June 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. TelevisaUnivision’s 18 matches will span across the entire tournament, including a semifinal match and the title game.

The event includes teams from all six continental soccer confederations, including 12 of the biggest clubs in Europe. Two MLS clubs — the Sounders and Inter Miami — will also participate and host matches in their home markets.

In the initial deal with FIFA, which includes the streaming rights for all matches in English and Spanish, DAZN retained the rights to sublicense matches to local free-to-air linear broadcast networks, meaning English-language rights are still a possibility for other major broadcasters in the U.S.
