The Sounders announced that first-time attendees to a game this year can “receive free tickets to a designated home game” during the 2025 season as part of a promotional campaign called the “First Match On Us fan-engagement program,” according to Andy Yamashita of the SEATTLE TIMES. The program includes “free tickets, merchandise and a ‘specially designed welcome experience’” at Lumen Field. Anyone who has not previously purchased tickets through the Sounders system can apply for a “maximum of two free tickets to one of 11 preselected games,” starting with the match against the Dynamo on March 22. Tickets can be selected in general admittance, family-friendly seating or the standing supporter section, depending on availability. Those who are interested “may apply online or through QR codes that will be distributed across the region in various mediums.” The fan-engagement program was created “following feedback from the Sounders’ season-ticket holder representatives and fan focus groups to ensure accessibility to the sport.” The campaign launches as Seattle prepares to host games during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and the 2026 men’s World Cup (SEATTLE TIMES, 2/24).
