The Univ. of Oklahoma has hired Senior Bowl Exec Dir Jim Nagy as the GM for its football team. Nagy replaces Curtis Lofton in the GM role and his hiring comes as the “position is evolving.” Nagy will be charged with “managing the Sooners' roster, recruiting, evaluation, retention and compensation as well as NIL rules, transfer portal management, revenue-sharing allocation, scholarship limits and eligibility requirements.” Along with the addition of Nagy, OU announced that Randall Stephenson will serve as Chair of Football and Special Advisor to the President and AD. He will provide “day-to-day oversight” of both Nagy and football coach Brent Venables while he also “continues his role offering oversight of budgeting, strategic planning and business planning” (OKLAHOMAN, 2/26).
