Senators EVP, COO & CFO ERIN CROWE is joining Canada Soccer as COO & CFO and she is expected to assume the role in April, according to Neil Davidson of the CP. Crowe joined the Senators in 1996 as VP/Finance and was promoted to CFO in 2003. She added the title of EVP in 2009. She left the hockey team in 2015, returning in February 2022 as EVP & CFO. The COO title was added in September 2023. Crowe was recognized as one of SBJ’s “Game Changers: Women in Sports Business” in 2024. Former Canada Soccer COO MATHIEU CHAMBERLAND is “moving to the role of chief of soccer operations and associate general secretary, where he will oversee the ‘soccer operations and soccer administration portfolio.’” Chamberland joined as COO in February 2023, coming from Soccer Québec. SEAN HEFFERNAN, who had served as CFO for 18 years, left the organization in May 2024. The revamped Canada Soccer exec team includes CEO & General Secretary KEVIN BLUE, Crowe, Chamberland, Crowe, Chief Communications & Content Officer PAULO SENRA and VP/Philanthropy SAMANTHA ROGERS (CP, 3/12).

MAJOR DEPARTURE: In Ottawa, Bruce Garrioch wrote losing Crowe is a “big hit to the Senators.” She is a “highly respected executive” in NHL circles and she “helped guide the Senators' front office through the sale of the club” to MICHAEL ANDLAUER and his group during the 2022-23 season. Crowe worked with representatives of former owner EUGENE MELNYK‘s estate and New York-based investment bank Galatioto Sports Partners to help complete Andlauer’s purchase. Promoted to COO/CFO by CEO/President CYRIL LEEDER, Crowe has “also played a lead role with Leeder in negotiations” with the National Capital Commission to get a deal in place to purchase 10 acres of land for a new arena at LeBreton Flats (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 3/11).
