In Philadelphia, Ariel Simpson noted AT&T aired its new March Madness commercial featuring the “Villanova BFFs” -- Knicks G Jalen Brunson, F Mikal Bridges, G Josh Hart, and T’Wolves G Donte DiVincenzo. The 30-second commercial “focuses on DiVincenzo reuniting with the ‘Nova Knicks” after he was traded to the T’Wolves in October. With the song “See You Again” playing in the background, the former teammates “reunite inside the corridor of an arena, sharing an awkward interaction, before a flashback is shown of DiVincenzo blowing out his birthday candles and making a very adorable wish” (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 3/17).
CUSTOM-MADE: In K.C., Pete Grathoff noted Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany wore “custom-made jackets” at CPKC Stadium on Saturday for the NWSL’s K.C. Current’s 3-1 win over the Portland Thorns, and “one neat detail is the logo on the back.” The jackets “appear to have been made by Goldbar Limited,” a Missouri-based company which sells a similar jacket featuring the Chiefs. There are some other “interesting details in the jackets,” with both Patrick and Brittany having their “last name in the K on the front of the jacket.” Mahomes’ No. 15 is “on the C on his jacket.” Another “nice touch is the red and white stripe trim around the collar and the end of the jackets” that “seems to be a nod to the Chiefs” (K.C. STAR, 3/17).
