The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER’s Rudie Obias noted to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Monopoly board game, Nike is partnering with Hasbro on “a new limited-edition release” of Lakers F Lebron James’ signature sneakers. Priced at $160, the LeBron NXXT Genisus EP sneakers have “a Monopoly logo tag at the Nike Swoosh” as well as “a Monopoly logo on each insole.” On sale for $120.97 (reg. $200), the Nike LeBron XXII “What The Currency” sneakers have Monopoly branding with the board game’s logo “at the quarter and on the insoles” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER,4/30).
JOINING THE FAMILY: FOOTWEAR NEWS’ Jaden Thompson noted Team USA Gold medalists Tara Davis-Woodhall and Hunter Woodhall are joining Nike‘s track and field roster as the company “continues to show support for women athletes as well as adaptive and Paralympic athletes.” The track and field stars, who are also a married couple, “stole the spotlight” at the 2024 Paris Games when they earned gold medals in the Olympics and Paralympics, respectively (FOOTWEAR NEWS, 4/30).
