In New Jersey, Art Stapleton reported the latest installment of the N.Y. Giants’ annual offseason show “Giants Life” will consist of two parts this year and “released on all of the team’s social media channels … in advance of rookie camp," which begins Friday. The show, which the team debuted in 2014, focuses on first-round picks DE Abdul Carter and QB Jaxson Dart and comes “just one year after their initially-praised and ultimately-mocked appearance on ‘Hard Knocks.’” That created an “interesting backdrop in terms of just how open the organization would choose to be in the immediate aftermath” (Bergen RECORD, 5/8).
VOICE OF A MOVEMENT? In Indianapolis, Scott Horner noted T’Wolves TV announcer Michael Grady is set to “be the lead play-by-play announcer for WNBA games on Amazon Prime” when the streamer gets rights in 2026. Grady has also “discussed calling NBA games for Amazon and NBC,” which is replacing TNT as an NBA outlet next season. Front Office Sports was first to report the news (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 5/8).
SETTING THE STAGE: RACER’s Marshall Pruett noted Fox on May 18 will “debut its first IndyCar Series documentary” ahead of pole qualifying for the Indianapolis 500. The show, “IndyCar: Anything To Win,” features “exclusive never-before-seen interviews with the biggest stars and most iconic names in the IndyCar Series” (RACER, 5/8).
