The Univ. of North Carolina on Friday issued a statement that Jordon Hudson, the girlfriend and business associate of football coach Bill Belichick, is allowed inside the football program’s facilities, contradicting a report from earlier in the morning. The full statement reads, “While Jordon Hudson is not an employee of the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University” (Mult., 5/9). Podcaster Pablo Torre in an episode posted early Friday morning cited multiple sources as saying that Hudson is “no longer allowed in the football building” at UNC and is “no longer allowed on the football field.” The decision “was made last week by the higher-ups inside the athletic department.” One source said, “Don’t think you’ll be hearing much from Jordon moving forward” (“Pablo Torre Finds Out,” 5/9). In N.Y., Jenna Lemoncelli noted a video from last month went viral that showed Hudson “on the field with Belichick at a UNC practice.” The situation “has been a PR nightmare for UNC and Belichick” (N.Y. POST, 5/9).

ON THE SIDELINES: In N.Y., Christian Arnold noted that Belichick “seems to be putting” Hudson “on the sidelines when it comes to managing his brand.” At least “in one instance.” Belichick had former Bears exec Brandon Faber with him while he spoke at NYU’s Stern School of Business (N.Y. POST, 5/8).

Update: Pablo Torre wrote on X the show “requested comment and filed dozens of FOIA requests that were not satisfied” and they stand by the “specific reporting in our episode.”
