Univ. of Arizona athletics unveils five-year strategic plan

The Univ. of Arizona yesterday released a “five-year strategic plan that it’s dubbing ‘The Bear Down Blueprint,’” according to Michael Lev of the ARIZONA DAILY STAR. The plan “outlines values, priorities and goals for the department,” with the aim of “building a strong, sustainable organization.” It includes “some ambitious objectives.” Among them:

-- Balancing the athletic department’s budget by June 2026.

-- Achieving a 5% annual increase in total attendance across all athletic events.

-- Growing student attendance and ZonaZoo involvement by 10% annually across all ticketed sports.

-- Ensuring that 85% of corporate partnerships have multiyear contracts.

-- Increasing total partnership revenue by at least 15% year over year.

-- Securing a minimum of 10 new partners annually.

-- Achieving a 10% increase in the season-ticket-holder base and 25% growth in group sales by June 2031.

-- Achieving a top-three ranking in the Big 12 in attendance in ticketed sports (ARIZONA DAILY STAR, 6/18).
