The College Sports Commission -- the new enforcement arm slated to oversee House settlement related-impasses -- has its latest hire.

The group is slated to bring on John Bramlette, Chief of Staff & SVP/Internal Operations for the Nationals, as its Head of Operations & Deputy General Counsel, sources told SBJ.

An official announcement is expected on Monday, while Bramlette’s first day is set for July 9.

Bramlette will oversee varying day-to-day operations of the CSC, along with providing legal counsel related to new rules on revenue sharing, athlete NIL deals and roster limits. He will also manage relationships with external partners and vendors.

Prior to his most recent role with the Nationals, Bramlette worked as the organization’s VP & Deputy General Counsel. He has also held positions at Ripken Baseball and the Headfirst Companies and worked as a litigation associate and Boston-based law firm Nixon Peabody LLP.

Bramlette’s hiring comes on the heels of former MLB exec Bryan Seeley being tabbed as the CSC’s CEO on June 6.

The House settlement, which was approved by Judge Claudia Wilken earlier this month, is a resolution in three separate antitrust cases -- House, Hubbard and Carter. Among its varying prongs, it will allow schools to share revenue directly with athletes beginning on Tuesday, while also creating a $20.5 million cap that will escalate annually.

The CSC has been tasked with governing issues related to the settlement such as NIL deals processed through the Deloitte clearinghouse, “NIL Go,” potential issues related to the aforementioned cap and other potential problems that might arise.
