Tepper Sports & Entertainment exec TAMERA GREEN is leaving her full-time role with the Charlotte teams to join the Univ. of South Carolina’s College of Information and Communications, where she will help launch a new sports and entertainment program. Green was hired as Tepper S&E’s SVP & Chief Communications Officer in March 2023. She will continue to work on key projects as a consultant for Tepper, including the Bank of America Stadium renovation. SARAH CLARK will continue to lead corporate communications for Tepper S&E, reporting to CEO KRISTI COLEMAN. WOODY WILDER will continue to lead communications for Charlotte FC and BRUCE SPEIGHT will continue to lead communications for the Panthers (Ben Fischer, SBJ).

Bowl Season announced its 2025-26 Executive Committee, with Duke’s Mayo Bowl Executive Advisor DANNY MORRISON serving as committee chair for the group. The 2025-26 Executive Committee also includes: Valero Alamo Bowl President & CEO DERRICK FOX, Isleta New Mexico Bowl Exec Dir JEFF SIEMBIEDA, 68 Ventures Bowl Exec Dir SHERRIE DYAL, Vrbo Fiesta Bowl & Rate Bowl Exec Dir & CEO ERIK MOSES, ESPN Events VP CLINT OVERBY, SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl Exec Dir JOHN SACCENTI, Go Bowling Military Bowl President & Exec Dir STEVE BECK, and Allstate Sugar Bowl CEO JEFF HUNDLEY. The committee’s term runs through June 30, 2026 (Bowl Season).

Sources revealed that the Big 12 promoted CMO TYREL KIRKHAM to Chief Brand & Business Officer. The conference also promoted Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer JESSICA PRESNALL to COO & General Counsel (X, 7/1).

AHL Charlotte Checkers COO TERA BLACK is “stepping down next month” after 19 years with the team. SVP & Head of Ticket Sales SHAWN LYNCH will “replace Black overseeing business operations” as president. Black “plans to remain connected to the team as a strategic advisor” and she will “retain a minority ownership stake acquired last year.” Her husband, JAMIE BLACK, is the Checkers’ controller and is “also leaving his job with the team” (CHARLOTTE BUSINESS JOURNAL, 6/30).

NBC Sports SVP/Digital & Emerging Businesses DAMON PHILLIPS has resigned. He joined NBC in 2017 “to run the D.C.-based regional sports network.” He did not specify where he is going next (PUCK, 6/30).

ESPN promoted ANDY GREEN to the newly created role of VP/Non-Traditional Productions. Green has been with ESPN for more than two decades and has been based in the Charlotte office since returning to ESPN in 2014. He was promoted to coordinating producer in 2022 (ESPN).

Sports lawyer CHRISTINE BROWN announced the launch of her namesake law firm -- Christine Brown & Partners -- where she will serve as CEO. The firm focuses on helping student athletes, coaches, and teams adjust to the changes to NCAA regulations. Prior to founding her firm, Brown served as Partner at Nesenoff & Miltenberg, LLP; Title IX and Conduct Attorney at Duffy Law, LLC; and Dir/Legal Services and Title IX Coordinator at Fairfield Univ. (Christine Brown & Partners).

WSC Sports announced the opening of its Seoul, South Korea office and the appointment of DAVID OH as Head of Commercial/Korea. Oh spent the last seven years with Taboola Korea, most recently as Publisher Sales & Account Dir (WSC Sports).
