TNT Sports is averaging 418,000 viewers for its FIFA Club World Cup games heading into Sunday’s final, and that figure jumps to 476,000 when only looking at weekday primetime and weekend games (14 such matches). TNT had a sublicense for select DAZN matches (the streamer carried them all; HBO Max did not stream any).

While not a true apples-to-apples comparison (with this being the first year of the FIFA event), the Club World Cup matches to date are on par with what USA Network got for Premier League matches this past season (394,000 for all Premier League cable matches; 429,000 for just Saturdays and Sundays).

Six of TNT Sports’ CWC games averaged over 500,000 viewers (but none were over 1 million). Leading the way among all games was this past Saturday’s quarterfinals. Real Madrid’s win over Dortmund drew 957,000 viewers to take the No. 1 spot (the match peaked at 1.3 million). The other quarterfinal on Saturday featured Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich (745,000 viewers). That match peaked at 1.1 million viewers. TNT carried one semifinal -- Tuesday’s Chelsea-Fluminense match -- and that drew 566,000 viewers (DAZN exclusively streamed PSG’s win over Real Madrid in the other semi on Wednesday).

Chelsea will take on PSG in the final, which TNT will simulcast. TNT’s best soccer audience to date remains the 2019 UEFA Champions League final featuring Liverpool-Tottenham, which drew 1.51 million viewers.
