La Liga club Barcelona is “technically homeless” ahead of its match today at 3pm ET against Valenica, as Camp Nou has been “stuck in a seemingly endless renovation project since June 2023.” The stadium is “still missing key permits.” After spending the past two seasons playing home games at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Montjuic, there was a “planned return to Camp Nou” for today’s match. However, the stadium “still isn’t ready,” and Montjuic is “already booked for a Post Malone concert.” The club will instead play today’s match at the 6,000-capacity Estadi Johan Cruyff, located in the club’s training facility. The smaller stadium is home to Barcelona’s women’s and reserve teams. But for the men’s side, it is the “home of last resort -- and could be for a few weeks” (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 9/12).
