Audience Analysis: FS1 sets volleyball record; BTN ready for in-conference football jump

  • FS1 drew its best college volleyball match ever, as Nebraska-Creighton attracted 388,000 viewers.
  • Big Ten Network certainly is ready for more in-conference play in football. The cable channel sees an 88% lift from non-conference to the in-conference portion of the schedule. But even the non-conference games are performing well thus far: 566,000 average viewers (it was 406,000 all of last season). A strong Grambling-Ohio State game a couple of weeks back helped that out.
  • Even with Caitlin Clark in street clothes, Game 2 of the WNBA first-round playoff matchup between the Fever and the Dream drew 1.5 million viewers last week on ESPN, marking the network’s second-best first-round game ever. Later that night, Aces-Storm Game 2 drew 1.1 million, which is ESPN’s fourth-best game in Round 1. The WNBA playoffs came into the weekend with viewership up over 30% on ESPN.
