The 2026 NFL schedule won’t come out for seven more months, but CBS’ top broadcast team is already lobbying to start the season with one of the league’s best rivalries. During the second quarter of Sunday’s Chiefs-Bills game, CBS came out of a commercial break with aerial shots of the stadium being built right next to the Bills’ current home, and CBS’ Jim Nantz said, “They’ve already laid down the sod at the new Highmark Stadium, getting ready for its debut next season.” He added shortly thereafter, “These two teams -- forget about being matched up off of first-place or second-place schedules. They will meet again next year in the regular season because it’s a year in which the AFC West will play the AFC East. And that game will be at that new stadium.” CBS’ Tony Romo quickly interjected by saying, “On CBS!” Nantz: “I like what you’re thinking. It’d be a wonderful 4:25 game Week 1, wouldn’t it?” Romo: “I would do it” (“Chiefs-Bills,” CBS, 11/2).
