“F1” film producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that a sequel to the movie co-produced by F1 driver Lewis Hamilton is “officially in the works.” BBC.com’s Christal Hayes notes the movie is nominated for four Oscars this year, including best picture. Speculation about a possible sequel has been “circulating for months but had not previously been confirmed.” Bruckheimer “declined to give a timeline for the project or confirm casting details,” including whether actor Brad Pitt would “reprise his role” (BBC.com, 2/11).

FLYING HIGH: HOLLYWOOD REPORTER’s Ryan Gajewski reported a forthcoming documentary film is “set to focus” on former NBAer Spud Webb, who “became an NBA sensation in the 1980s for his impressive athleticism despite his short stature.” Director Dylan Mulick has “wrapped production” on the feature titled “Fly: Spud Webb.” The project is “set to hit the market later this year.” The movie will “feature archival footage alongside new interviews about Webb’s path and ability to draw younger fans and female audiences as the league evolved” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 2/10).
