Barkley gets new contract, expanded role at Turner

WarnerBros. Discovery Chief Content Officer of U.S. Networks Kathleen Finch confirmed in an interview that they have signed Charles Barkley to a new contract with Turner and that she is "excited to find other ways to put him on television talking about something other than basketball" (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 10/12). Barkley, who had three years left on his previous Turner deal, was approached this summer by LIV Golf for a commentary job before turning it down. Prior to his new deal, Barkley was making about $10M a year for his work on TNT’s “Inside the NBA” -- where he has been an analyst since 2000 -- and about $10M a year for endorsements (N.Y. POST, 10/12).
