A new group of Wisconsin business operators is "forming to support state funding for American Family Field's long-term renovations." The group, called the Home Crew Coalition, "supports finding a bipartisan solution, and aims to raise awareness about the important economic benefits the ballpark provides to Wisconsin." Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' 2023-'25 $103.8B budget proposal includes a $290M "payment to the Southeast Professional Baseball Park District, the state-created agency which owns American Family Field and leases it to the Brewers." That payment "needs approval from the Legislature, which is controlled by the Republicans" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 3/8).
