LaLiga side Celta Vigo announced it will invest €70M ($78M) in a 160,000-square-meter sports complex outside Vigo using funds from CVC and LaLiga Impulso. Work on the Galicia Sports 360 project, "which has not yet been approved by the local government," will begin in '23. Galicia Sports 360 will create 200 jobs, and the complex will be open to all elite athletes in the region. Celta Vigo President Carlos Mouriño said, "This will transform the entire industry of Galicia. Today is the second-most important day in the history of the club, behind only the day of its foundation." Galicia Sports 360 will offer "innovation, development, sports tourism, restaurants, sports science and social commitment to youth soccer development." Mouriño said that "talks with potential sponsors of the project have already begun, including with Philips" (PALCO23, 3/16). The club tweeted a video featuring a rendering that is available here.
