The Yankees’ George Steinbrenner, whose team's payroll of $190M is highest in MLB, was voted the best owner in baseball in a survey of 464 MLB players conducted by SPORTS ILLUSTRATED. Steinbrenner also finished sixth on the "worst" list, receiving 6% of the vote. The winning percentage of the top four vote-getters' teams is .546; the bottom four's teams are at .436. Players were not allowed to vote for the owner of their team. The following are the top- and bottom-four MLB owners, according to the poll ( SI, 7/23 issue ).
