Buccaneers Rewarding Renewing Club-Seat Holders

Buccaneers officials last week mailed letters informing club-seat holders that they “will not have to pay an additional seat deposit to renew their contracts” in ’08, according to Rick Stroud of the ST. PETERSBURG TIMES. The team “plans to use the remaining money in those accounts” as a deposit toward new contracts, and promised “discounted” prices on tickets for those who renew. New club-seat holders “are expected to be charged what amounts to a seat license to purchase tickets.” In addition, club-seat owners will have the option of entering six- or ten-year agreements, and Club 1 and Club 2 owners will have the right to purchase two tickets to Super Bowl XLIII in ’09. Club-seat prices range from $1,480-3,500, according to the team’s Web site. Stroud notes the ’07 season marks the end of the ten-year commitments entered into by many season-ticket holders when Raymond James Stadium opened in ’98, and the Buccaneers “claim to have more than 100,000 fans” on a season-ticket waiting list ( ST. PETE TIMES, 7/18 ).
