AEG Closes One N.Y. Office Upon Sale Of Red Bulls

By Tripp Mickle , Staff Writer, SportsBusiness Journal AEG has shuttered one of its N.Y.-area offices. The office had been created to oversee the construction of Red Bull Park in Harrison, New Jersey, and the opening of the Prudential Center in Newark, but the company sold its ownership interest in Red Bull Park and opened the Prudential Center this fall. The closure means AEG N.Y. Senior VP/Sales Dave Mosca will leave the company after nearly seven years. He has not made future plans yet. AEG N.Y. President Nick Sakiewicz did not return a call or e-mail seeking comment regarding his future plans, but sources said he will be leaving AEG to become part of an ownership group working to bring an MLS team and soccer stadium to the Philadelphia area. AEG spokesperson Michael Roth  said, "After selling the MetroStars and our interest in Red Bull Park, this particular office was not as essential to conducting our business in New York and the East Coast. With our growing music and entertainment business, we continue to keep office space in the New York area."
