The facility, which features three NHL-size ice pads and one Olympic-size pad, will be known as the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence as part of the five-year agreement. Financial terms were not disclosed. Under terms of the deal, MasterCard will see its name and logo on exterior and interior signage, in-ice logos, dasherboards, event tickets and the zamboni. The company also will receive a special display area and serve as the preferred card at point-of-sale locations. MasterCard will get 250 hours of ice time, which it will donate to the local community. The facility is expected to open in September. It is owned by the Lakeshore Lions Club, and the Leafs and Marlies are its lead tenants.
