Overnight Ratings: Drama-Filled U.S. Open Women's Final Up 32% For ESPN

Naomi Osaka’s win at the U.S. Open women's final on Saturday drew a 2.5 overnight for ESPN, tied for the second-highest mark in the net’s history of the event alongside the ’15 Novak Djokovic-Roger Federer men’s final. That number was also up 32% from last year’s Sloane Stephens-Madison Keys final. Osaka defeated Serena Williams in straight sets, though the match was marked by continuous friction between Williams and chair umpire Carlos Ramos. Yesterday’s men’s final drew a 2.1, as Djokovic defeated Juan Martin del Potro to capture his 14th Grand Slam title.
