Oklahoma State began selling beer at Boone Pickens Stadium this season, and through five home games, OSU Deputy AD Chad Weiberg said the move has "met our expectations," according to Nathan Ruiz of the OKLAHOMAN. Weiberg indicated that OSU "has sold anywhere from about 10,500 to about 14,500 beers a game." Ruiz noted beer is "sold at 22 locations in the stadium." OSU Senior Associate AD/Facilities Kyle Waters said that the school "has added 14 to 16 staffers on game days to the 800 or so workers it already had to handle the additional concession responsibilities." Campus police have also seen a "decrease in alcohol contacts, when an officer approaches someone he or she believes to be underage or overly intoxicated but does not necessarily arrest them." Through five home games in '17, OSUPD "reported 71 alcohol contacts" on game days in and around the venue, compared to 46 to date this season ( NEWSOK.com, 10/19 ).
