There is "tension" between the Rams and Chargers before they move into SoFi Stadium next summer due to the amount of money the Chargers are expected to generate from PSL sales, according to KLAC-AM's Fred Roggin. The NFL estimated that each team could generate around $400M from PSLs, which would help "pay for part of the construction of the stadium." However, the Chargers realize it is "going to take them time" to grow a fan base in the L.A. area. They "know they are not going to build as many PSLs and certainly not at the price" the Rams are able to charge. One reason for the tension is that the initial $1.9B cost to build the stadium has risen to nearly $5B. Roggin noted the Chargers are "under no obligation to do anything but give the PSL money," and there was "nothing in writing about how much it should be" ( "Lunchtime with Roggin & Rodney," KLAC-AM, 9/23 ).
