Maryland-based Hysteria Brewing Co. has "released its #MVP India pale ale with an updated can to avoid likeness issues" related to Ravens QB Lamar Jackson following a "legal dispute with the NFL ," according to Nathan Ruiz of the BALTIMORE SUN. Hysteria's original image for the beer "featured a player wearing a purple No. 8 jersey -- Jackson's number -- with logos similar to those used by the Ravens on the helmet and shoulder, though the words 'Ravens' and 'Jackson' were not used." After the NFL sent Hysteria a cease-and-desist letter earlier this month, the brewery then "updated the jersey, putting the company logo across the front of it and removing secondary marks, including the 8s on the shoulders." The beer was "released Saturday, with Hysteria reporting the cans sold out that afternoon" ( BALTIMORE SUN, 12/31 ).
