Sportito to Launch Daily Fantasy Sports Platform in Mexico

Daily fantasy sports platform Sportito is expanding into Mexico. The London-based company already operates its fantasy sports platform in the U.K., Brazil and India. 

Sportito offers head-to-head fantasy contests where users choose lineups of players, but must stay under a salary cap. Users in Mexico will be able to play fantasy contests for top soccer leagues and competitions such as LigaMX, the German Bundesliga, the English Premier League, Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. The company also plans to launch DFS contests for basketball, tennis, baseball, golf, hockey, NASCAR, MMA, the NFL and NCAA Championships.

“Mexico is the second most powerful economy in Latin America and 70% of its population is buying from international websites as a clear demonstration of flexibility,” said Riccardo Mittiga, CEO of Sportitio, according to Insider Sport .

According to a study from research firm Technavio , the Mexican fantasy sports market is predicted to reach $1.7 billion by 2021.
