Houston sports radio has experienced "some upward trends" in ratings, "aided in large part by the Texans' brief playoff surge," according to David Barron of the HOUSTON CHRONICLE. Thanks to the Texans, Houston's KILT-AM "cracked the top 10" among men 25-54 from 6:00am-7:00pm for the ratings period of Jan. 2-29. KILT "tied for 10th among all stations during radio's prime listening hours and almost doubled the share of its two competitors," KBME-AM and KFNC-FM combined. KILT was in a "three-way tie for sixth place" in morning drive (6:00-10:00 am.), its "best January showing" in that window since '14 (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 2/21).
