National Basketball Players Association staff have begun reaching out to the league’s athletes to survey whether they want to restart the suspended 2019-20 season during the coronavirus pandemic. According to ESPN , the NBPA is texting players asking for a simple yes or no answer. Responses will be kept confidential.
During a conference call on Friday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver told NBPA staff and players that the most likely scenarios for resuming play would involve hosting teams at one or two sites rather than playing at their home arenas.
Some teams have now reopened training facilities, but many others cannot do so due to local coronavirus restrictions.
