Rookie Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has “signed a memorabilia deal with Fanatics, giving the company exclusive rights to market his autographed items,” according to Mark Inabinett of the BIRMINGHAM NEWS. Tagovailoa joins Bengals QB Joe Burrow, the No. 1 pick in last month’s NFL Draft, in agreeing to deals with the company. Fanatics is part of a growing portfolio for Tagovailoa, who also has “announced marketing deals with Adidas, Bose, Gillette, Muscle Milk, Verizon and Wingstop.” Meanwhile, Tagovailoa already is “flexing his marketing muscle” by having his No. 1 Dolphins jersey take up two of the top spots on NFLShop.com’s sales list. He also ranks third -- behind Burrow and No. 2 pick, Redskins DE Chase Young -- on the annual NFLPA Rising Stars list this week, which projects who could “enter the top 50 in sales of officially licensed, player-identified merchandise in the coming season” (BIRMINGHAM NEWS, 5/21).
