Jason Wright Becomes First Black President in NFL History

The Washington Football Team has hired Jason Wright to be the team’s new president, making him the first Black team president in NFL history.

Wright, 38, is also the youngest team president in the NFL. In his new role, Wright will manage Washington’s business operations, including finance, sales and marketing. He is the team’s first president since Bruce Allen was fired by Washington after the 2019 season.

Wright spent seven years as an NFL running back from 2004 to 2011. After his playing career, Wright received his MBA from the University of Chicago. Since 2013, he’s worked as a partner in the Washington office of McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.
