Former XFL DC Defenders President ERIK MOSES has been hired as Nashville Superspeedway President, making him the "first Black man to be named president of a NASCAR track," according to Mike Organ of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. Moses will be charged with "overseeing the return of NASCAR Cup Series racing to Nashville." Nashville Superspeedway is set to reopen after being closed in '11 and "will serve as host for a NASCAR Cup Series race tentatively set for June 20, 2021." The DC Defenders "ranked among the league's leaders in ticket sales and social media engagement." Prior to the XFL, Moses was Events DC Senior VP and Managing Dir of Sports, Entertainment & Special Events (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 8/23). Moses said of his new position, "Any time that you have the distinction of being the first at anything professionally, it is a humbling kind of honor" (AP, 8/22).
